A Zen Master In Oz
This blog is dedicated to the new novel A Zen Master In Oz, now available here from Amazon.com's Kindle store.
The story behind my decision to self-publish through Kindle is a long one. The short and sweet version is that originally it was going to have been a paper release with illustrations by well known and respected Oz illustrator Dennis Anfuso. A series of financial and personal upheavals threw a series of monkey wrenches into the works and have so far prevented the illustrated version of the book from being published. After a year or so, I was still very anxious to share what I believe to be a very funny and exciting adventure story set in the continuity of Baum's Oz books and containing some basic teachings on the Dharma. To get the book out to the public, where I hope it will at least make a few people smile, and to hopefully raise funds to get the illustrated version on the market, I went the electronic route.
If you are not interested in Buddhism but love the Oz stories, give the book a try. It is full of your old Oz friends from Dorothy to the Gump and everyone and thing in between. I wrote the story of Zen Master Il Hwa's adventures in Oz so that the humor, excitement and fun of Oz came first and everything else came second.
Until next time
